Adjusting the Position Piston:
The adjustment of the syringe piston is only necessary if the piston does not
go down completely, e.g., after replacing a syringe after initializing the au-
tosampler.
Prior to adjustment, ensure that the syringe has been installed correctly and
that the locking screw (no. 1 in the image) is tightened.
Carry out the adjustment of the syringe piston as follows:

Open the window of the same name with the Instrument |Sampler
Alignment menu option.

Select Position Piston in the list field in the Please select position needing
adjustment group.
}
Increase or decrease the z-axis coordinate in 0.1-mm increments to align
the piston position. Move the syringe piston (2) down in steps until the
slit is just no longer visible.

Start the adjustment of the syringe piston by clicking the [Position Piston
adjust] button.
}
Apply the adjusted value in the software with [Save].

The autosampler is adjusted.

Setting the NPOC purge flow
CAUTION
Risk of burns from the furnace
To set the NPOC purge flow, you must open the side wall of the analyzer. This presents a
risk of burn injuries from the hot furnace.

When setting the NPOC purge flow on the gas box, maintain a safe distance to the
hot combustion furnace.
The NPOC purge flow is preset to approx. 100 ml/min. Depending on the measurement
task, you can increase or decrease the NPOC purge flow via the NPOC needle valve. The
NPOC needle valve is located behind the left side wall, to the left of the combustion fur-
nace.
