Z-axis coordinates (immersion
depth)

Position 1: Select the immersion depths of the canula in the sample vessel so that
the magnetic stirring rod can rotate freely.
¡
Position Furnace: Select the immersion depth at the TC lock so that system tightness
is just maintained.
System tightness can be checked in the System state window. The In and Out gas
flows have the same value if the system has no leaks (target: 160 ml/min).

Position TIC reactor: Select the immersion depth of the canula at the TIC lock so that
approx. 3 mm of the canula is visible above the septum.
Adjustment
Carry out the adjustment as follows:

Enter the syringe size in the software. To do this, open the Options window, tab Ana-
lyzer components with the Configuration |Edit options menu option.

Select the syringe volume in the Syringe group in the Size list. The syringe volume is
specified on the syringe.
}
Click [OK] to confirm.
}
Open the window of the same name with the Instrument |Sampler Alignment menu
option.
}
Select the desired position in the list field in the Please select position needing ad-
justment group:
Position 1, Position Furnace or Position TIC reactor.

For alignment, increase the x-, y- and z-axis values in 0.1-mm steps:
– X-axis direction: Forward or backward movement
– Y-axis direction: Left or right movement
– Z-axis direction: Up or down movement

Select the adjustment for the respective position by clicking on the corresponding
button, e.g., [Position 1 adjust].
}
Accept the adjusted values for all positions by clicking the [Save] button.

The adjusted values will be applied in the software.
