3. About the xDetect Fire Panel System
3.1 Functions relating to BS EN54
optional functions as per BS en54-2 & BS en54-4
The panel is approved to BS EN54-2 & BS EN54-4 including all the following options
which can be selected as required
Panel outputs - Found on Sounder card (14-0410)
Panel Sounders: (OPTION 7.8 BS EN54-2)
Two outputs are provided. ONLY polarised equipment should be used. Ensure the
polarity of the connections are observed at all times.
The total alarm load across each conventional type sounder output = 0.75 A
Outputs can be wired in loop or spur configurations. If wired as a spur then an
EOL device (200 Ω + Diode) must be fitted for correct operation (Eaton part no.
EOLCF3VDS).
total loss of power - Found on Gateway card (14-0417) (option 8 .4 BS en54-2)
The panel has the facility to sound the fault buzzer continuously for at least 1 hour in
the event of a total loss of power to the panel.
If this option has been selected and the external battery (3x AAA alkaline) has been
connected to TB2 on the Gateway card, the panel will detect when the battery is low
and signal a fault.
The battery should be changed when the external low battery has been detected to
ensure that the buzzer will sound in the event of a total loss of power.

Do not exceed the rated output current
output fire alarm routing equipment - Found on Io card (14-0409) when
programmed via xDetectWorks
(option 7 .9 BS en54-2)
This output, which is fused, and monitored using an end of line device (Eaton part
no. EOLCF3VDS), is used for the automatic transmission of the fire signals to fire
alarm routing equipment
(e.g. Fire brigade). It operates by providing 24 V output to an auxiliary
device (e.g. relay).
It is current limited to 100 mA using a resettable polyswitch, but load limited to
30 mA. Class change and test conditions do not operate this output. If operated
under a fire alarm condition, the indication will be displayed on the Touch screen
display and will remain until the fire alarm is reset.
Ensure the polarity of the connections are observed at all times and end of line
device (provided) is fitted for correct operation.
