In conjunction with powerful metal sheet feed drives, up to 1600 double strokes per
minute can be achieved with these punching axes.
The individual valve determines the advance rate of the single rod cylinder [
1
] via
its valve aperture. The single rod cylinder is permanently pressurized to pump
pressure on its annulus area. This causes the cylinder to be retracted in its starting
condition. In the event of a power failure, an integrated safety function opens the
high-response valve [
2
] from A to T by applying pilot pressure, thus ensuring that the
cylinder retracts.
When the high-response valve [
2
] is operated, the piston area of the cylinder is
pressurized to pump pressure; due to the piston area ratio the cylinder extends.
The actual value of the cylinder position is sensed by a digital position transducer
[
3
]. To ensure high dynamics of the axis, the high-response valve is actuated by
the HNC100 axis control optimized specifically for this purpose. This axis control
processes all control signals, which are required for operating this SYEHL axis, in
real time.
The control loop value of the cylinder position controller generates the current for
the pilot valve in the valve amplifier.
These punching axes are provided with a high and a low-pressure circuit. In normal
operation, the system operates with more energy-efficient low pressure and only
changes over to high pressure, when forces > 50 kN are required. The pressure
changeover is performed hydraulically by means of a pressure changeover valve
[
4
]. The built-on tank damper dampens the oil flow returning to the tank while the
cylinder is retracting.
Hydraulic accumulators [
5
] are used to achieve maximum dynamics.
Pressure relief valves [
6
] and accumulator discharge valves are integrated in the
punching axes to protect the system and the accumulators.
Please note that the cylinder piston of the SYEPS punching systems slowly lowers
under its own weight in the depressurized state!
