5 About this product

5.1 Performance description

Generally, as plug-&-play drive solution, the SYEPS punching system consists of
a SYEHL punching axis with integrated cylinder and a digital axis control of type
HNC100 from Rexroth. The control block accommodates, apart from a position
measuring system, all valves and accumulators, with the selected components being
matched to the relevant SYEPS variant.
The technical data, operating conditions and operating limits of the SYEPS punching
system can be found in the data sheet and the order confirmation.

5.1.1 Product description

The SYEPS punching system is a highly dynamic electrohydraulic axis for punching
and forming operating modes of NC punching machines. The axis can perform
punching, nibbling, marking, forming, soft punch and cutting movements.
The punching axis is controlled by the digital axis control HNC100. The data
exchange with the higher-level control is handled over Profibus. Other field bus
interfaces are available on request.
The integrated failsafe functionality allows safe operation also in emergency
situations (see Chapter 2.8.1 “Safety function” on page 15 and 9.2.9 “Failsafe
operationon“ on page 92.
