UDM-0102 and UDM-RX02 Operation/Reference Guide

Upgrading Firmware

Overview

System upgrades of the UDM-0102 can be performed following consultation with AMX support. Upgrade
files can be downloaded from the AMX web site.

Tools required to perform system upgrades include;



TFTP client



Necessary files. Files that represent possible firmware updates include:



UDM-0102 Firmware (file format =

c<id>.rom

)



Web Firmware (file format =

f<id>.rom

f<id>.dat

)



Port Firmware (for output ports, not input ports - file format =

p<id><3 digit port #>.rom

)



Bootloader Firmware (file format =

b<id>.rom

)



UDM-RX02 Firmware (file format =

c<id>.rom

)



Working knowledge of UDM-0102 and UDM-RX02.

Determining the Current Firmware Versions

Before upgrading firmware, be sure to determine which firmware version is currently loaded on the UDM Hub
and receiver.

Open the UDM-0102’s WebConsole, and click on the

Setup

link to invoke the main

Setup

page. The firmware

version currently loaded n the UDM-0102 is indicated at the top of the page (FIG. 80).

Alternatively, you can retrieve firmware version information in a Command Line session:



Establish a Command Line session with either the UDM-0102 or UDM-RX02 and type a period
(“.”). This will return the current firmware version.



Alternatively, type

?<port#>

from the UDM-0102 Command Line interface to return the Port

Firmware version and UDM-RX02 Firmware version (if one is attached).



You can also type

Setup

at the UDM-0102 Command Line prompt to enter Setup mode to view

firmware information.

The Controller Firmware and the Web Firmware

must always be the same version

Never upgrade one without also upgrading the other to the same version number.

is the only way to view current firmware version information for the receiver.
