UDM-0102 and UDM-RX02 Operation/Reference Guide
7.
Click
Step 1
to ready the device to receive the IR code (the system prompts you to press the desired key
on the remote control).
8.
Press the corresponding button on the remote.
9.
Click
Step 2
on the page to begin the IR code confirmation.
10.
Press the corresponding button on the remote again. The IR code has now been added and assigned an
action.
A new table for this device’s remote control is what is actually being created. When the administrator decides
to create further commands e.g power off, power on particular to this remote control they will be stored within
this table.
If new commands are to be created in future ensure the correct IR Protocol has been selected before
recording new commands to ensure commands are stored in the correct table.
There is one protocol/table per UDM-RX02.
Updating the UDM-RX02 With the IR Protocol
1.
Ensure the IR protocol has been created previously.
2.
In the
Status
page, click on the
port number
hyperlink which the device is attached to. It is the UDM-
RX02 which will transmit the IR command to the device’s IR interface.
3.
Once the Port properties become visible, select the IR protocol which this UDM-RX02 will download
from the
Protocol
drop-down menu. This may take a few minutes depending on how many commands are
within the table.
4.
A message will appear saying
“Loading Protocol – Please wait”
once this has disappeared the IR
protocol has been downloaded to the UDM-RX02. IR commands can now be sent from the
UDM-0102 to the device.
Deleting Protocols
The last created or currently highlighted protocol (Serial or IR) will be deleted when using the
Delete
hyperlink.
To delete a Serial protocol: Click the
Delete
hyperlink in the
Serial
section.
To delete an IR protocol: Click the
Delete
hyperlink in the
IR
section.
To delete all (Serial and IR) protocols: Click

Creating an IR command for the action
Click here to prepare the device to
receive the IR code
Ensure the device’s remote control is pointing to the IR sensor located at the front of
the UDM-0102 when performing key presses. If not the key presses may not be
stored in the UDM-0102.
The IR learning process requires that the command on the device’s remote is learned
twice - i.e the same remote control command needs to be repeated at step 2.
A UDM-RX02, which will issue the relevant IR commands to the device, must be
connected to the relevant port via a Cat5/e/6 cable. Remember the IR commands are
stored within the UDM-RX02.
