Passthrough Mode
Input devices can also be placed into Passthrough mode . Passthrough Mode allows an UDM-RC02 Remote
Control (or SKY or SKY+ remotes) to be used to control Input Devices connected to the UDM-0102.
The following steps must be taken in order for Passthrough Mode to function correctly:
1.
Use an IR01 IR Emitter Module connected to connect an IRTX port on the UDM-0102 to the IR Receiver
on the Input Device - see the
Connecting an IR-Controlled Device to an IRTX Port section on page 11.

The Input Device must be added to the system as an Input - see the Configuration - Inputs Page section
on page 37.

The Input Device must also be added to the system as a Device - see the Configuring IR-Controlled
Devices 1 and 2 section on page 40.
4.
The device must be assigned an IR protocol see the Creating and Learning an IR Protocol section on
page 59.
5.
The port must be configured for Passthrough Mode: In the User Control page, select the Passthrough
option for each Key/Command for which you want to use passthrough mode to control the selected Input
device (FIG. 30).
The example in FIG. 30 indicates that Key 1 on the UDM-RC02 remote control will put device “DVD” into
Passthrough mode. Alternatively, selecting Input A on the UDM-RC02 will also enable passthrough control of
the source.
Using Passthrough Mode
Once a device has been configured for Passthrough Mode, the relevant remote control is used to control the
device. Press the previously configured key on the relevant remote control to enter Passthrough mode.

If accessing a Sky Box through Passthrough Mode, click on the “Sky” button on the Sky remote
control. Now use the Sky Remote control as normal. Press “TV” on the Sky remote to exit
Passthrough Mode.

If accessing a DVD player through Passthrough, click on the relevant button on the UDM-RC02
remote control to play, pause, stop, eject, etc.
Ensure the relevant IR blaster port is cabled up to the device: If the device is
connected to Input A, connect the device to IR port 1. If the device is connected to
Input B, connect the device to IR port 2.

To exit Passthrough mode click on any key on the remote control (which accessed
Passthrough mode) which is not configured as a control enabled key.
If accessing a Sky box press “TV” on the Sky remote to exit Passthrough mode.
