Troubleshooting and Test Functions
Check of Raman Band of Water
This test is a verification of the wavelength calibration, described in section
“Wavelength Verification and Calibration"
on page 101, using the Raman band
of water.
Using the Agilent ChemStation
1
Copy the method WLEMTEST.M and WLEXTEST.M to \HPCHEM\1\
METHODS.
2
Load the method WLEXTEST.M. The FLD will change into the
multi-emission mode and scan in the range of the expected maximum of
397 nm
±
20 nm.
3
Turn the pump on and flush with water for a few minutes to assure a clean
flow cell. Flow rate should be 0.5 to 1 ml/min and the baseline stable.
4
Define in
Sample Information
the file name and description.
5
Start a run. After the 1 minute run has completed, enter the Data Analysis
and evaluate the spectrum. The maximum should be found at
397 nm
±
3 nm, see
N O T E
This test requires the Agilent ChemStation Spectra module or the Control Module.
N O T E
The methods WLEMTEST.M and WLEXTEST.M are part of the A.06.xx ChemStation
software CD (\1100FLD\VERIFYWL\).
N O T E
You may remove the flow cell and check for air bubbles. After re-inserting the cell, turn the
lamp on.
