Operation
Enabling a Priority Marker (Pri’ty Marker)
Pressing this button enables the priority marker for the currently highlighted channel. This
function emits a brief tone over the radio channel every few seconds while radio traffic is
idle. While the priority marker is enabled, the Channel Status module shows “PrM” in the
“busy” field.
Enabling Channel Self Repeat (Self Repeat)
If the currently highlighted channel is set for full duplex operation, this button enables self
repeat. This causes calls received on the channel to be automatically retransmitted on the
same channel. When self repeat is enabled the label “SRpt” shows in the “busy” field.
Paging Functions
See
on page 149 for an explanation of paging nomenclature.
The IntegratorRD Workstation can be optionally configured to generate multiformat
pages. These
Instant Call
pages can be arranged by category or group for easier selection
of a particular page.
Access to the paging functions is through the
Page Select
menu button. Pressing this
button displays either a set of page groups (up to 16) and the prompt “Select Page Group”
on the status line, or a page number entry display line and a list of preprogrammed Instant
Call page buttons.
If the page group screen is displayed, press one of the page group buttons to view the
Instant Call page screen(s). Up to 16 Instant Call page buttons are displayed on a screen.
Pressing the
Next
or
Prev
button is used to view additional screens.
As a page is transmitted, the Dispatch Console display indicates
“-PAGE-”. When the page is complete, the time is returned to the display.
To remove the paging menu, press the
Page Select
button. If you are performing manually
entered pages, you can return to the instant call button menu by pressing
Exit
.
If a PTT request is made during paging, IntegratorRD will sound a go-ahead-to-talk beep
when paging is complete (if configured to do so). This provides an audio cue to the
dispatcher that the system is ready for voice transmission.
Manually Entering a Single Page
Manual pages are created by using the keypad to enter a leading digit (corresponding to a
page type), followed by the capcode (correctly formatted based on the page type).
Alternatively, you can select the
Manual Page
menu from the
Page Select
menu, which
displays a numeric keypad and an entry area on the screen. The digits can then be entered
from either the screen keypad or the Audio Panel keypad. As digits are entered, they are
displayed on the Audio Panel display or on the status line next to the “Entry:” prompt.
