Initiating a Status Request
The dispatcher first selects the channel that is used for the transmission if no revert
channel is configured, enters the destination radio ID (either by manual key entry or a
Subscriber ID alias button), then presses the
Status Request button. If the request is
successful, “Stat Rx’d” is displayed temporarily in the channel display and the status
response message is added to the Call History window. If the request is not successful,
“Stat
Fail
” is displayed.
Updating Channel Status
To update a channel’s status the dispatcher first selects/highlights the channel whose status
is to be updated, then pressed the
Status Select button from the MDC-1200 Call submenu
or the Subscriber List window. This brings up a status selection submenu or subwindow
(see
Figure 58 and Figure 59 ), which shows any programmed MDC-1200 status ID
aliases. After selecting a Status ID button, or manually entering the status code (1-255),
the dispatcher presses
Status Update to send the message. Pressing the Exit button
returns the user to the main MDC-1200 Call submenu or to the main Subscriber List
window.
Radio Availability Check
To query a field radio to determine its availability, the dispatcher must select a channel if
no revert channel is configured for the destination radio. The dispatcher then enters the
destination radio ID (either by pressing/selecting a Subscriber ID button or by manually
entering the ID), then presses the
Radio Check button. If the radio responds, “Rad Avail.”
is displayed in the channel box. If the request fails, “No Respnse” is displayed.
If the destination radio ID is listed in the Subscriber List window, its status is updated to
“Available” if it responds to the request or “No Respnse” if it does not.
