Operation
display. After the page has been transmitted, the paging stack may be repeated
by again pressing the
SEND
button.
CLEAR ENTRY
Button
If a manual page keypad entry is in progress, the
CLEAR
button is used for
aborting the current keypad entry sequence. If a manual page keypad entry is
not in progress, this button clears the page stack and turn off all page button
LEDs. If a paging transmission is in progress, this button also aborts the
transmission.
Talk Time
If Voice Message Talk Time is enabled, the transmitter stays on for a configurable amount
of talk time after a page is sent. This allows the user to announce a voice message to the
paged audience. Talk Time is associated with each Leading Digit.
Any attempt to transmit while the system is busy during paging (or other transmissions) is
either cancelled or queued, depending on how the console’s BTI (Busy Transmit Inhibit)
switch is configured.
Channel IRR Operation
This feature is only available with the Universal Dual Channel Card (950-9819 or 950-
9820). On the UDCC, each channel is equipped with its own Instant Recall Recorder.
This IRR can store 64 seconds of audio on each channel for each megabyte of installed
memory. The UDCC can be configured to disable its channels if the IRR memory is
missing or bad, or to allow the IRR feature to be optional such that the channels still
functions if the IRR memory is missing.
Each channel’s IRR memory is organized by message units. Each message consists of one
reception (Call) or transmission (PTT) which has passed through the channel while the
Record mode was enabled. The length of each message is variable and there can be up to
64 messages per channel.
The IRR memory behaves in a circular fashion, such that when the end of the memory is
reached, it seamlessly wraps around and continues recording or playing from the
beginning of the memory. When a new recording overwrites a previously recorded
message, that entire message is lost to make room for the new recording. If a new
recording overwrites itself, then only the overwritten portion is lost.
Note
Manual page stacks cannot be mixed with Instant Call page stacks.
Note
With button-based consoles, manual pages transmit on the
channels and frequencies defined with the corresponding leading
digit. This is different behavior than IntegratorRD consoles, where
manual pages transmit on the currently selected channel(s).
