Operation
Selecting Speaker or Headset Audio (Spkr/Hdset)
If your console includes an auxiliary headset (and associated jackbox), you can direct the
console audio by using the
Spkr/Hdset
(Speaker Headset) button. When the headset is
plugged in, the button shows
Hdset
in black, indicating that the audio is directed to the
headset. If you would like to redirect audio to the console speakers without removing the
headset, press the
Hdset
button. The button indicates “Spkr” in the yellow.
Controlling the Intercom
The control of the Zetron Intercom Interface is performed from a dedicated intercom
channel control box using the following control buttons:
Icom Select
Icom Review
Icom Talk
Door Open
The intercom channel control box shows intercom call requests in the ANI field. Below
this, in the channel control fields, the current selected intercom is shown. If no intercom is
selected, then “None” shows for this field.
Answering the Intercom
When the intercom call button is pressed on the remote intercom panel, the console
displays the label of the intercom and can optionally “beep” through the console speakers
to alert the operator. Pressing the
Icom Select
button automatically selects the intercom
that just called in. After the intercom is selected, the
Icom Talk
button can be pressed to
talk back to the selected intercom speaker.
If a remote door latch is associated with the intercom, the
Open Door
button can be used
to activate the latch. When the conversation with the selected intercom is complete, press
and hold the
Icom Select
button for approximately 2 seconds to deselect the intercom. It
now shows “None.” Press the
Icom Review
button to clear the intercom label.
Reviewing Multiple Intercom Calls
If more than one intercom location requests attention, the console queues these requests.
In this case, the label of first request shows with a flashing “bullet” indicating a pending
request.
Note
Zetron does not support the use of amplified headsets with Series
4000 console equipment.
Note
It is not necessary to change the highlighted or selected channel to
perform intercom control functions. All other channel control
functions, such as volume control and muting, are available.
