Instant Call Operation
(Requires Option 930-0028)
The
INSTANT CALL
buttons provide the simplest operation available. To tone out or
page personnel or apparatus, simply push the buttons labeled with the desired items. Each
button represents one or more page sequences (call stack) used to access the labeled items.
When a button is pressed, its LED goes on, indicating that its transmission is pending. A
maximum of 64 buttons may be pending at one time. Usually, the transmission begins with
the press of the first button and proceeds in the order that the buttons were pressed. After
the button’s pages have been transmitted, its LED begins to blink, providing a checklist of
transmitted calls. If the
INSTANT CALL
button is located on the upper or expansion 60-
button panel, a blinking red LED indicates the page sequence was aborted and never sent.
If additional Instant Call buttons are pressed before the first paging sequence has
completed, they are treated as a continuation of the paging sequence.
If the optional
PAGE SAFETY
button is present, transmission of pending Instant Calls do
not begin until this button is pressed. When the first
INSTANT
CALL
button is pressed,
the
PAGE SAFETY
button’s LED begin blinking. When the
PAGE SAFETY
button is
pressed, its LED goes on solid until all pending Instant Calls have been transmitted. If the
Page Safety feature is not programmed, paging begins immediately upon pressing the
Instant Call button.
The
PAGE
CLEAR
button may be used to immediately terminate any Instant Call
currently being transmitted. This also clears all pending Instant Calls and their LEDs,
returning the encoder to the idle state.
Note
With button-based consoles, an Instant Call is an aggregate of one
or more individual pages; each page is defined to transmit on its
own independent collection of channel/frequency pairs. This is
different behavior than IntegratorRD consoles, where the entire
Instant Call is defined to use the same set of channels on their
associated frequency for all pages contained in its stack.
