button while speaking into the microphone. The intercom is turned off by
pressing the console intercom button again.
Console-to-console intercom audio is heard on the Select speaker. Intercom audio is
muted when there is RX or TX activity on the Select channel.
Updating the Console Configuration (Misc. Menu)
Also located in the miscellaneous menu is the
File Maintenance
selection. This selection
allows you to save existing or load new configuration files. Refer to
on page 144 for a complete description.
Performing a Group Select (Select Groups)
After a select group has been defined, it is possible to select multiple channels with a
single button press. To do this, press the
Select Groups
button, and press the desired
select group button. At this time, all channels for this group are simultaneously selected.
Performing a Group Transmit (XMIT Groups)
After a transmit group is defined, it is possible to key multiple transmitters with a single
action. To do this, press the
XMIT Groups
button. To activate the transmit function, press
and hold the desired transmit group button. Release the button to deactivate transmit.
Performing a Group Transmit does not affect the channel selections.
Performing a Group Patch (Patch Groups)
After a patch group is defined, it is possible to patch multiple channels with a button press.
To do this, press the
Patch Groups
button and press the desired patch group button. At
this time, all channels for this group are patched.
If your console includes the Enhanced Patch (Model 4020/Model 4048) option, you may
also select the patch number to which the patch connects. The line below the System
Menu Buttons show “Patch Path” and a number. Using the
Patch Path
(up/down) buttons
in the Group Patch menu or the
Patch Path <n>
control button, you may enter a number
between 1 and 24. Then when you select a patch group, the channels are assigned to the
patch number you entered. In this way, you may have multiple simultaneous patches
enabled.
Sending Pages (Page Sel)
If the system is configured for paging, the
Page Sel
button activates a menu used to enter
and send pages. Refer to
on page 73 for a complete description of the
on page 149 for an explanation of paging
nomenclature.
Reviewing Auxiliary I/O Conditions (Aux I/O)
The state of contact closure inputs and outputs are reviewed by pressing the
AUX I/O
button. The Secondary Function buttons are replaced with a list of input and output
