Removal
The
Primary Sheave Holder
(part No.
YS-01880)
(Figure
23) and the
Primary Sheave
Puller (part Nos. YS-01881-1 and YS-01882-1)
(Figure
24) are required to remove the primary sheave.
NOTE
Remove the side panel rubber
for ac-
cess to the sheave bolt.
1. Remove the drive belt as described in this chapter.

Hold the primary sheave with the holder and loosen the
sheave bolt.

Install the sheave puller. Then continue to hold the
sheave with the sheave holder and tighten the sheave
puller.

It may be necessary to rap sharply on the
head of the puller to loosen the

sheave from the

When the primary sheave is loose, remove the puller.
Remove the primary sheave
(Figure 22) assembly.
Disassembly
The primary sheave
is
under spring pres-
sure. Use the
special tool or an
equivalent tool during disassembly and re-
assembly, or refer service to a dealership.

Attach the sheave compressor

sheave and compress the primary sheave spring

Remove the sheave compressor.
4. Remove the primary sheave spring

follows:
a. Remove the nut
(Figure 28) and washer.
Remove the remaining components
(Figure
29).
Store the bushing and roller assembly as a set until
inspection and reassembly. Do not intermix parts.

Remove the weights from the sliding sheave as fol-
lows:
a. Remove the pivot bolt retaining nut (A,
Figure 30).
