Spiral spring installation

Spiral spring

to Sheave drum.

When installing the spiral spring in the
sheave drum, take care to ensure that the
spiral spring does not pop out and com-
press it by winding one turn from outside.
NOTE:

Fix the spiral spring end to the drum
hook, hold the spiral spring and then
remove the spring holder with a flat head
screw driver.

Align the slit with the rope guide and
pass the rope through the slit. Lift up the
rope and turn it counterclockwise for 3
turns by holding the sheave drum. Wind
the rope clockwise by removing it from
the slit and rotating the sheave drum.

When checking the recoil starter only,
move out the start-in-gear protection lock.

Adjust the start-in-gear protection wire,
after install the recoil starter ass’y to the
power unit. Refer to page 3-5.
