Replacing a System Controller Power Supply
1. Identify the failed controller power supply using the following information:
•
Error messages in the ICON Manager log file
•
A red power supply LED appears in the Environmentals View
2. Note which controller and which power supply (A or B) has failed.
3. Put on the anti-static wrist strap and attach it to a grounded surface such as the rack
enclosure. Keep the wrist strap on for the remainder of this procedure.
4. Press the power button on the power supply to the off position (0).
5. Unplug the power supply’s power cord.
6. Remove the power supply. Locate the release tab on the left side of the power supply. Push
the release tab to the right to release the power supply from its locking position.
7. Pull the power supply out of the chassis and set it aside.
8. Remove the replacement power supply from the packaging.
9. Gently slide the replacement power supply into the empty slot.
10. Use your thumb to firmly push the power supply into place.
11. Use the screwdriver to replace the screw and secure the power supply in place.
12. Connect the power cord.
13. From the front of the power supply, press the power button into the on position (1).
14. Verify that the Active LED on the front of the power supply is green, indicating proper
operation. You can also select the Environmentals View to see the status of the power
supplies.
15. Place the failed power supply in the replacement packaging, and follow the instructions for
returning it to Xiotech.
