Emprise 7000 Installation and Service Guide 40
Connecting the ISE and ICON Power Cords
Each ISE contains two power supplies and two power cords. The ICON appliance has one power
supply and one power cord. Complete the following procedure for each component.
1. Locate the power cords for the ISE and ICON appliance.
2. From the rear of the rack, plug a power cord into each of the Emprise 7000 system controller
power supplies, the ISE, and the ICON appliance.
3. Plug the other end of each cord into two separate PDUs installed on the sides of the rack.
Connect the left power supply cords to the PDU on the left side of the rack and connect the
right power supply cords to the PDU on the right side of the rack.
Note:
Do not connect the system controller power cords yet, as the controllers may
power up. Controller power cords will be connected later in this guide.
Caution:
If interconnecting components reside within more than one rack, Xiotech
recommends that the racks be at the same ground potential. All rack systems
should be grounded to a common point in the rack in a radial topology.
Note:
The ICON system contains one power supply and has one power cord. Use the
upper outlet on the rear of the system when inserting the power supply cord.
Caution:
Do not apply power to the individual components at this time. For instructions
about how to power up the components of an Emprise system, refer to
“Chapter 4: Emprise 7000 Setup” on page 49.
