Emprise 7000 Installation and Service Guide 28
Rack Mounting the ICON Appliance
Intelligent Control (ICON) is a management platform that provides a browser interface for
monitoring and managing an Emprise system. The ICON appliance connects to one or more
system controllers through an Ethernet network.

1. If necessary, open and remove the front and rear doors of the rack.
2. The ICON appliance has two rack rails. Each rack rail consists of an inner rail that attaches to
the system, and an outer rail that secures directly to the rack. Pull out the inner rails until you
hear a clicking sound.
3. Depress the locking tabs to continue pulling the inner rails completely out.

4. Position the inner rails along each side of the ICON appliance, lining up the five screw holes.
Note:
The locking tabs also lock the ICON appliance into place when it is pushed fully
into the rack, and prevent it from coming out completely if it is pulled out for
servicing.
Note:
Make sure you are attaching the left rail to the left side of the ICON appliance
and the right rail to the right side. The tabs on the outer edges of the left and
right rails should be facing outward.
