26) Low Pressure Switch
The Low Pressure Switch, located at the bottom of the control panel, features an adjustable low
pressure switch, which immediately stops the machine when the pneumatic pressure drops below
75 PSI. This switch is not meant to be adjusted by the machine operator.
27) Magazine
The Magazine, located at the input end of the machine, is a storage area that holds stacked, flat
cases, and advances them to be processed.
28) Magazine Guide Rail
The Magazine Guide Rails control the lateral position of the flat cases in the magazine. They can
be adjusted to accommodate different case sizes.
29) Magazine Pusher
The Magazine Pusher is a pneumatically driven arm that applies a constant horizontal pressure at
the top of the cases in the magazine, holding folded cases upright and assisting in moving them
forward towards the case separator.
30) Main Frame
The Main Frame is the foundation of the machine assembly.
31) Major Flap Folders
The Major Flap Folders are two slotted fork-like plates that rotate to fold the case’s major (outer)
flaps to a more horizontal position before taping or gluing. In doing so, they grip the bottom of the
case so the pins can be withdrawn from the top.
32) Manual Shutoff Valve
The Manual Shutoff Valve is a ball valve, mounted at the infeed end of the regulator, which
permits the secure shutdown of the machine’s pneumatic system. The valve can also be locked
out, which may be required by local or federal regulations.
33) Mast
The Mast is a vertical structure that supports and guides the forming head and the case
separator.
34) Minor Flap Folders
The Minor Flap Folders are two pivoting linkages that rise to a 45
°
sloping position, and contact
the minor inner flaps of the case as they descend. The descent of the minor flap folders is timed
to coincide with the descent of the case to the fully
DOWN
position, thus completing the folding of
the flaps to the horizontal position.
35) Motor Starter
The Motor Starter is a magnetic relay, located inside the control panel, which turns the drivebelt
motors
ON
or
OFF
.
36) Pin
These small, sharp Pins, mounted in pinblocks on jawplates, are used to impale the corrugated
material for secure holding.
37) Pinblock
The Pinblock is a small, flat plastic block that is used to mount pairs of pins on the jawplate in
such a way that they can be extended or withdrawn as needed in order to grip the material of
various case sizes. The Pinblock is one of several Pin and Dome sets that together work to hold
the corrugated case through the forming process.
