7.8 Case Separator Horizontal Adjustment
(Dimension ‘G’)
After Dimensions ‘A’ and ‘H’ have been
correctly adjusted, the case separator
may need to be adjusted so that it rests in
the center of the case width. If it is not
properly adjusted, the case may rest at an
angle, and may fail to be properly injected
into the jawplate pins, potentially causing
a case jam downstream. To adjust the
case separator, loosen the quick-adjust
handles located on the top of the case
separator. Then slide the separator along
the channel until it is centered on the
case. Re-tighten the quick-adjust handles
to complete the adjustment. For larger
cases, it may not be possible to center the
case separator above the case centerline.
Check the ‘S’ box for Satisfactory Performance and ‘US’ box for Unsatisfactory Performance.

Loosen the 2 red quick-adjust handles as shown in Figure 7-23.
Adjust the position of the case separator, while ensuring that it is parallel.
Retighten quick-adjust handles.

Corrugate Thickness Adjustment (Dimension 'F')
Adjustment of the machine for the Dimension ‘F’, or case wall thickness, has been made at the
factory for the sample cases submitted, and will not normally need to be adjusted unless there is
a significant change in case blank thickness (for example, from single-wall to double-wall
corrugate material).
If there is a significant change in corrugate thickness, it is necessary to adjust the jawplates and
the caliper at the inboard end of case magazine feedbelts and the jawplates, and to make a minor
adjustment to the case separator.
