9.4.3 Magazine Pusher
The magazine pusher is fitted with a pressure regulator, a shutoff valve, and a flow control. The
flow control is set to almost fully
CLOSED
, as the speed is very slow. Verify the following items
on the magazine pusher:
1) Verify that all components are accounted for (i.e., pusher arm, knob, spacer, etc). Check
these parts for proper function and any excessive wear or damage.
2) Inspect magazine pusher cylinder for leaks and proper function. Verify that the
ON/OFF
switch for this cylinder is working and that its pressure is correctly regulated as per
service manual recommendations.
3) Examine magazine pusher bar pivot point at drive carriage for wear.
4) Examine drive carriage rollers for damage or wear.
Check the ‘S’ box for Satisfactory Performance and ‘US’ box for Unsatisfactory Performance.

9.4.4 Magazine Feedbelts
If the magazine bottom conveyor feedbelts produce too much ‘drive’ action on a slow-running
machine, slow down the speed of the feedbelt motion to restrict the travel that the cylinders
provide. This will reduce the driving action. Verify the following items on the magazine feedbelts:
1) Red feed belts – Examine drive cylinders, clutch bearings, and the UHMW drive block
(the part between the cylinder and the clutch bearing).
2) Check red feed belts for any wear and to ensure that they are correctly tensioned.
Check the ‘S’ box for Satisfactory Performance and ‘US’ box for Unsatisfactory Performance.
