Workgroup Monitor Setup
The PC Monitor can be setup on a computer supporting up to 15 people. This
eliminates the need for everyone to have their own PC running the PC Monitor
software. See the
PC Monitor requirements
section above for details about what
kind of PC is required for use as a Workgroup Monitor.
Special Instructions for Installing Workgroup PC Monitor
When choosing which user account under which you want to run PC Monitor, you
should choose a user whose mailbox you wish to monitor. For example, if you run
PC Monitor in Workgroup mode on your computer, and you are logged-in under your
main Windows account, you should expect to monitor your mailbox in addition to the
mailboxes of the additional users you add to the list. In the notes below, "you" refers to
the person running PC Monitor.
You must have write permission in the Windows registry to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem.
Each user whose mailbox you wish to monitor must have the
Log On Locally
right.
Each user should also be a member of the Users (or Power Users or Administrators)
group. You can check permissions of users and groups by using the Local Security
Policy application located in the Windows Control Panel.
If you are using Terminal Services to add users, those users may need to be a
member of the Administrators group.
When the installation finishes, you will be returned to the webpage. Click
the
Download Complete
button and then you will be asked to setup an
Individual or Workgroup Monitor. Select
Workgroup Monitor
and then
click
