Errors are classifi ed into two types. The Hardware Errors are detected at Pow-
er On or when the printer controller initializes or resets.. The Operation Errors
occur during a print operation. When an error occurs, data input is prohibited.

The causes of the hardware errors and a possible solution are listed below:
Peripheral circuit error (X2 LEDs: On-On-On/ All: Error Code 139)
When the printer controller CPU diagnoses a problem with an internal peripheral
circuit.
There may be a problem with the printer controller PCB.
• Head short error (X2 LEDs: On-On-On/ All: Error Code 139)
This means that the printer mechanism may be damaged, or not cor-
rectly connected to the printer controller PCB. Otherwise, there may be
a problem with the printer controller PCB.
• Head open error (X2 LEDs: On-On-On/ All: Error Code 139)
This means that the printer mechanism may be damaged, or not cor-
rectly connected to the printer controller PCB. Otherwise, there may be
a problem with the printer controller PCB.

Operation errors include: out-of-paper error, paper near end error, head-up er-
ror, Vp power supply error, thermal head temperature error, autocutter error,
and paper jam error. Operation errors can be read from the Status LEDs (X2).
Even when the operation error is in process, paper can be fed by using the
Manual Paper FEED switch. Since the data is buffered, printing can be resumed
once the causes of the errors are removed and the errors are canceled.
The causes of each operation error and a possible solution are listed below:
• Out-of-paper error (X2 LEDs: On-Off-On/ During Print Cycle: Off-Blink-Blink
All: Error Code 195)
No paper. Load paper.
There are two methods to load the paper: automatic and manual. The printer
controller will go to a print-ready status if auto-loading is used. If paper is set
manually, it will go to a head-up error status.
