To verify the terminal's Ethernet and Port Settings:
1. From the main menu, select Option 2, Diagnostics.
2. Select Option 7, Modem/Ethernet.
3. Select Option 6, Ethernet Settings.
4. Verify the confi guration for Ethernet Settings and Local Ports.
The J45 TCP/IP LAN connector on the mainboard has two (2) integrated LEDs. A
green LED is located in the lower right corner and a yellow LED in the lower left
hand corner of the connector. They should turn on when an actively powered
network cable is plugged into the connector. The yellow LED should fl ash any-
time there is bi-directional network activity (data stream) through the cable and
the TCP/IP LAN port connector.
Make sure the Host can ping the terminal's IP address through the entire net-
work. A trained technician can ping the Host from the terminal's physical con-
nection using a laptop with a network card and a crossover cable. (It can also
be done by local MIS or IT personnel.) Make sure there are no external fi rewall
issues that will prevent or hamper the terminal's ability to communicate with the
Host over the network.

T1 VEEP A
SSEMBLY
There are two (2) LEDs that display the operational status on the T1 VEPP as-
sembly. The green LED will always be on if the T1 VEPP assembly has good pow-
er applied to it and the internal controller is operational. If the green LED fails
to illuminate, possible causes might be the EPP communication cable, docking
board, mainboard, or the T1 VEPP assembly. The red LED will be on if a Tamper
Condition is detected.
If the T1 VEPP assembly does not detect a Tamper but fails to operate, verify the
EPP communication cable and the two function keypad cables (left and right) are
securely seated at the T1 VEPP assembly and the docking board.
*NOTE*
The octets within the Gateway address may need to be padded (fi lled)
with zeroes (0's) so that there is a character in each position of the three
(3) character octets. There are three (3) sets of octets: xxx.xxx.xxx.
