If the test fails, there may be a problem with power to the printer controller, the
printer power cable or power supply, the printer mechanism, or the data cable
between the components.

1. Log into Management Functions.
2. Select option 2, Diagnostics. (Refer to the Diagnostics - Printer section of
the XS
CALE
\X2 C
ONFIGURATION

ANUAL
for additional information.)
3. Select option 6, Printer.
4. Select option 1, Device Status, and check the report for any error condi-
tions. Correct any obvious errors (Paper Jam, Out of Paper, Low Paper, Head
Up, etc.).
5. Select option 2, Reset/Test Printer to print a test receipt.
If all external error conditions have been checked and corrected as applicable,
and the printer passed the S
ELF
T
EST
feature, there may be a problem with the
mainboard, docking board, or the printer data communication cable from the
docking board to the printer controller. If the printer format is correct on the
S
ELF
T
EST
, but looks distorted when printing from the Management Functions
Diagnostics test feature or Customer Transactions, there may be a problem
with the software.
When it appears the problem has been corrected, log into Management Func-
tions and select the Reset/Test option. If no errors are detected, press the F7
Reset Terminal Error function key to clear the error status.

**IMPORTANT**
The Device Status Report should be run BEFORE attempting the Reset/
Test option. Failure to do so may reduce the amount of diagnostic detail
listed in the report.
