Using Total Control MIBs
Error Correction Table
The objects in the mdmEcTable configure the modem's operation
with regard to MNP and V.42 error correction. See the MIB text for
a complete description of each parameter and the relationship of
that object to modem AT commands.
Call Statistics Table
The objects in the mdmCsTable make up a variety of statistics that
pertain to the last or current call for the given modem. When the
modem is not connected, the values are for the last call. Upon
making an incoming or outgoing connection, the values of these
objects are re-initialized and at that time, they reflect the current
call statistics.
Event Counter Table
The objects in the mdmEvTable are initialized to 0 upon installation
or power-on of an NMC, for each modem in the table. From then
on, every time one of the designated events occurs, the
corresponding counter for that modem and event is incremented
by 1. These counters are never zeroed out unless a modem card is
replaced by a non-modem card, and then the non-modem card is
again replaced with a modem card; or if the NMC is power cycled.
These counters can provide useful history information regarding
modem performance.
Event Threshold Table
Many of the modem events defined within the NMC have
associated thresholds. If those thresholds are configurable, they
are found within the mdmEtTable. See the MIB text for a complete
description of each parameter.
Modem Command Table
Only one command is allowed to take place at any one time for a
given modem. If a second command is requested while one is in
progress, an SNMP SET failure will occur. Simultaneous
commands can, however, take place on multiple modems.
