Getting Familiar with Your TriPlus RSH

The TriPlus RSH System

TriPlus RSH User Guide

Thermo Scientific

384 positions Microtiter Plate MT384

•

Agitator

(Incubation Oven) — The main component of the HS and SPME application.

Accurate thermostatting of up to six sample vials is crucial to obtain reproducible results
in head-space analysis. This condition is ensured by accurate temperature control of the
vials located in the incubation oven.

•

Vortexer

— Used for intensive shaking (orbital interval shaking) at ambient temperature.

•

On-Column Injector Actuator

— This device is not provided with the TriPlus RSH

sampler. It is an external device required for automatic injections through the TriPlus
RSH sampler into the On-Column injector. The device allows the opening of the
On-Column injector rotary valve when the syringe needle is inserted. When the needle is
removed, the actuator closes the valve.

Optional Components

•

ITEX Tool

— Required when the In-tube Extraction technique is used. It extend the

range of headspace techniques.

•

MHE Station

— Required when the Multiple Headspace Extraction (MHE) technique is

used.

•

Fiber Conditioning Station

— Allows the conditioning of the SPME fiber.

•

Bar Code Reader

— Reads the bar codes located on the vials and sends the content

during the report printout.

•

Dilutor Module

— Used for a typical solvent handling and for sampling an exact volume

of an aliquot and pipetting it into another vessel for further processing.

Power Module

The sampler is electrically supplied by the dedicated external power module. The TriPlus
RSH cannot work without this power module. A second power module is required to supply
the Temperature Controlled Drawer.

User Interface

The TriPlus RSH can be set up and configured using either the

Handheld Controller

or the

Virtual Handheld Controller

(PC software)

The functions of the TriPlus can be controlled through a data processing system for PC with
dedicated software.
