10.2 Normal-Phase Compatible Solvents and Additives
This section applies to VC‑pumps and VC‑autosamplers.
In a Vanquish Core system, normal-phase (NP) compatible solvents and
additives may be used if the pump and autosampler are modified with
the components from the Normal Phase (NP) kit.
1. Modify the pump and autosampler. See Modifying the Pump and

10.2.1 Modifying the Pump and Autosampler
This section applies to VC‑pumps and VC‑autosamplers.
When
To use normal-phase (NP) compatible solvents and additives in a
Vanquish Core system
Parts required
• Normal Phase (NP) kit, including NP compatible tubing and seals (for
use as both piston seals
and seal wash seals)
For ordering information, see Optional Accessories ( } page 269) .
• Tubing cutter
• Pistons (not with VC‑P21 and VC‑P33)
Preparations
1. Turn off the pump flow and wait until the system pressure is down
to zero.
2. Unscrew the cap of the seal wash reservoir.
3. Together with cap, remove the seal wash line from the reservoir.
4. To empty the seal wash line, press down the lever of the seal wash
pump. Release the lever when the line is empty.
