9.4.2 Extended search
You have three options for running a program search run using extended search/sector
seach.
1. Frequency search
A frequency range defined by the user is searched for programs during the frequency
search.
2. Channel search
Specific channel sectors can be set by the user for searching the channels for programs.
The channel search is faster than the frequency search.
3. Network search
The program search that is run during the program search is determined by the NIT
(Network Information Table) broadcast by the cable network provider.

key to open a selection table with the available search run options.

to select the search run method you want to use

to confirm.
Start frequency/start channel
for frequency and channel searches only

to highlight the
Start channel

Please note that the start channel or the start frequency must be lower than the stop
channel or stop frequency.

to select the start channel or use the
numerical

to highlight the
Stop channel

boxes and then proceed as described previously to enter the stop channel or stop
frequency.
Symbol rate
for frequency and channel searches only
You can see a list of the symbol rates displayed below the
Symbol rates
line, which are to
be taken into consideration for a search run. You can edit this list as follows if you want to
use additional symbol rates during a search:

Use the
up/down arrow keys
to select the
New symbol rate
line, if you want
to enter a new symbol rate and then press
OK
to confirm.

Now use the
numerical keypad
to enter the new symbol rate and then press
OK
to confirm.
The newly entered symbol rate is added to the end of the list.

Use the
up/down arrow keys
to select the
Delete
line, if you want to delete the
