8.1.3 Timeshift function
The Timeshift function enables you to use the Replay and Record functions simultaneously.
This enables watching
time delayed TV
. You can watch the program from start of the
recording and skip any passages that have already been recorded (e.g. blocks of adverts).
The live broadcast signal will be recorded simultaneously (refer to the following example).

You can jump to a specific place during
a live recording
by using the available
Replay
,
Pause
or
fast winding
functions and
Jogshuttle
, as described in
Section 8.2.

Press the
Info
key to display the Info-box on the screen together with an progress
bar, which display the replay and recording times.
8.1.4 Setting a mark during a recording

Pressing the
Record
key during a live recording will open a window displaying all
available functions.

Use the
up/down arrow keys
to mark the
Set mark
line and then press
OK
to
confirm.
Press the Record key to set the mark in this position.
Use this method to set marks for all places that you want to Record.
The mark can also be set during a Replay (Section 8.2.1.5) and via the hard disk
management menu (Section 8.3.1.3).
Example: Time delayed replay
You have missed the start of A Formula 1 Grand Prix. No problem!
The PVR will show you the time delayed race, whilst it is still recording.

Example: Jumping advertising blocks
Would you like to watch a broadcast without any annoying advertising interruptions?
