control key, if you want to exit the virtual keyboard without
saving the new name.
Deleting a Section
Your PVR enables you to delete specific sections in a recording that you have made (e.g.
unwanted advertising blocks).
Please note:
The deleted section will be permanently deleted from the hard disk.
Proceed as follows to delete a section:
The start and the end of the section that has to be cut out must lie between two identification
marks.

Mark the start and end of the section that you want to cut out with new marks as des-
cribed in
Setting up a mark
.
>
Now use the
up/down arrow keys
to highlight the mark that identifies the start of
the section to be deleted.
The section that is about to be deleted is now marked in
red
(1) in the advance
display and the exising mark overview.
>
Now press the
green menu
control key and then use
up/down arrow keys
to
highlight the
Delete section line
.
>
Press the
OK
key to display a query window.
Information on the Section that is about to be deleted will be displayed.
>
The section will be deleted by using the
left/right arrow keys
to highlight the
OK
box and then pressing
OK
to confirm.
Extracting a section
This function enables you to copy a section from a recording. This will create a new recor-
ding that only contains this section. The recording from which this section was copied
remains unchanged.
Proceed as follows to extract a section:
The start and the end of the section that is to be copied must lie between two identification
marks.
>
Mark the start and the end of the section that you want to copy with new marks as
described in the
Setting a mark
section.
>
Now use the
up/down arrow keys
to highlight the mark that identifies the start of
the section that you want to copy.
The section that is about to be copied is now marked in
red
(1) in the advance
display and the existing marks overview.
>
Now press the
green menu
control key and use the
up/down arrow keys
to
highlight the
Extract section line
.
>
Pressing the
OK
key will display a query window.
Information on the section that is about to be copied will be displayed.
>
The section will be copied, if you now use the
left/right arrow keys
to highlight
the
OK
box and then press
OK
to confirm.
The marked section will now be copied as a new recording. This process might take a
few minutes, as it depends on the size of section that you selected.
