Setting the country

Use the
arrow keys
to select the county in which the unit will be used.
The time zone and program directory sorting will be accomplished according to this
selection.

green Accept
control key to accept the selection and to jump to the sta-
tion search function.
Station search function
The station search function enables you to decide, whether the search run should look for
freely receivable programs or also for encoded programs.

Use the
up/down arrow keys
to highlight the
All stations
field if you would
like to look for both free and encoded channels, or
All unencoded stations
, if you
want to look for free channels only.

Press the
green
control key to start and run an automatic station search.
This process might take one or two minutes. Please observe further screen inserts.
Software update
The digital receiver checks the data channel after you have run a station search to see if
new software is available for your device, provided that this is available in your cable net-
work. You can run an automatic software update if new software is available.

Press the

The new software is now downloaded to your device. This process might take a few
minutes.

If you do not wish to download the new software now, press the

Loading the SFI data
Your digital receiver uses an electronic program guide called
SFI
(
S
ieh
F
ern
I
nfo). Your recei-
ver must first download the SFI data from the data channel before you can display the elec-
tronic program guide. Your receiver starts downloading the SFI-data automatically after com-
pleting the software update or skipping it. This process can take up to 30 minutes

You can skip the process if you do not want to wait for the SFI data to be loaded.
Press the
yellow Skip
control key to do this.
The SFI data will be automatically updated during the following night or you can also
manually update at any time (see Section 7.16.1).
Terminating the installation assistant

Confirm the close installation assistent instructions by pressing the
green Finish
control key in order to return to standard operation.
