6.6 OPTI LINE mode
The OPTI LINE mode is a computerised function
(optional) designed to improve the vehicle “PULL”
effect, that is to say, the lateral pull force caused by
excessive tread conicity, as well as to minimise the
vibrations caused by any residual wheel unbalance.
With the OPTI LINE mode (function possible in
BALANCE WITH RUNOUT mode or in FULL
DIAGNOSTIC mode) the balancer analyses a
set of wheels, saving data such as the Runout
and the tread conicity index. When the procedure
is complete the machine selects the best four
wheels, suggesting the order in which they should
be mounted to minimise the lateral pull force they
produce on the moving vehicle or to minimise the
vibrations.
The “PULL” effect and the vibrations of the wheels
can be reduced with the “Set of Wheels” procedure,
in the OPTI LINE mode.
Start the “Set of Wheels” procedure and the run,
then complete compensation of the unbalance,
remove the wheel from the balancer and finally
assign the wheel to the Set, saving its data.
Once the fourth wheel is entered, the machine
proposes an initial mounting order. You can also
proceed and enter a fifth wheel (usually the spare
wheel).
After entry of the fifth wheel, the program selects
and proposes the best four wheels with the relative
mounting suggestion. Entering five wheels allows for
greater mounting combinations and therefore greater
opportunities for correcting the faults.
Note
: The OPTI LINE mode must be previously
enabled in the
“Optima Settings” Menu.
Select the following:
“
Optima Settings
” / “
Wheel Pull Measurement
”,
set “
Enabled
” and press “
ESC
”.
6.6.1 Procedure “Set of Wheels”
•
Check that the BALANCE WITH RUNOUT or
FULL DIAGNOSTIC mode is active.
Start the measuring run.
At the end of every measuring line proceed as follows
:
•
Press (
1, Fig. 6-90
) to switch on the “
Set of
Wheels
”procedure.
Note
: When the “Set of Wheels” procedure is on, the
status bar shows the relative icon (
