Operating Instructions
Attaching and Lifting a Load
1.
Securely attach proper rigging to the grounded load
2.
Maneuver the PC094 as close as possible to the grounded load, making sure not to
overrun the load so that it gets caught on the carrier of the PC094 when it is attached
and lifted
3.
BOOM OUT to maneuver the hook block until it is centered on the load
’
s center
-
of
-
gravity; adjust the PC094 left and right to center the hook block, as necessary
4.
Raise and extend the boom high enough so that the rigged load can be lifted up to
six inches off the ground WITHOUT the hook block activating the A2B Safety.
5.
Refer to the Rated Load Chart and confirm that the PC094 can safely perform the lift,
as it is configured (extend the stabilizers, as needed).
6.
Once the load is securely rigged to the hook block, command a WINCH UP to lift the
load off the ground; lift no higher than needed (around six inches is a good rule of
thumb).
7.
SLOWLY maneuver the attached load (using all three crane controls) to reduce the
working radius and brace the attached load to, or on, the PC094
’
s fenders.
NOTE: When the boom is raised to its maximum angle (>50
°
), it may cause a false overload
condition. If this happens, use the override key to lower the boom slightly and functions will
be restored.
WARNING
Boom and Hook Block Positioning for a Lift
•
ALWAYS keep the working radius of the PC094 as short as possible to
safely complete the lifting operation; the greater the working radius,
the less you can lift.
•
ALWAYS line up the center of the hook block with the center
-
of
-
gravity of the load BEFORE rigging the hook to the load; if the hook
center and the load
’
s center
-
of
-
gravity are NOT lined up, once the load
is lifted off the ground, it will immediately begin swinging.
