Determining Lift Capacity of the PC094
Determine the Working Radius for the PC094
Working Radius
is the horizontal distance between the
Front Wheel Center
and
Hook Center
of a crane. Working radius is used to determine how much a crane can safely lift, the greater
the working radius, the LESS the crane can lift (usually).
The Front Wheel Center is the is measured from the center of either of the drive wheels of the
PC094 and on a line at 90
-
degrees from the wheel face (parallel with the PC094
’
s boom).
The Hook Center is the vertical axis that passes through the center
-
of
-
gravity of the hook of
the hook block when is hanging off the end of the PC094
’
s boom. When the PC094 is attached
to a properly rigged load, the load
’
s center
-
of
-
gravity should fall in
-
line with the hook center.
The working radius of the PC094 is ALWAYS measured between these two axes, using a line
that is parallel with the boom.
A representation of working radius, as measured on the PC094. This is a copy from the Rated Load Chart of the PC094.
