SurroundControl 31900/31960 Series
• Standard Settings Digital
This combo box applies to the parameters grouped direct-
ly below it.
After selecting
Digital , ARD or True Peak , these combo
boxes are automatically set to values corresponding to the
Digital , ARD or True Peak standards. After editing any
of these combo boxes manually (except the Operation
indicator area combo box), the text „Non Standard“ is
displayed in the Standard Settings Digital combo box.
Reselecting Digital , ARD or True Peak automatically re-
sets all parameters grouped below to the standard values
of these presets.
• Scale
This combo box is used to select the preferred scale:

TP60 (–60 dBFS to +3 dBFS, Standard Settings
Digital , selection: True Peak )
• TP20 (–60 dBFS to +3 dBFS)
• Dig60dB (–60 dBFS to 0 dBFS, Standard Settings
Digital , selection: Digital )
• Dig20dB (–20 dBFS to 0 dBFS)
• Dig+18 dB... 0 dB (0 dBFS = +18 dB)
• Dig+18 dB... 0... –18 dB (0 dBFS = +18 dB)
• Dig+20 dB... 0... –40 dB (0 dBFS = +20 dB)
• ARD +9 dB... –60 dB (0 dBFS = +9 dB, Standard
Settings Digital , selection ARD )
• <q> DIN 5 dB (quasi-DIN scale, –9 dBFS = 0 dB)
• <q> DIN 10 dB (quasi-DIN scale, –9 dBFS = 0 dB)
• <q> ARD +9 dB... –60 dB (quasi-DIN scale,
0 dBFS = +9 dB)
• <q> Zoom +/– 10 dB (quasi-DIN scale,
–9 dBFS = 0 dB)
• <q> Zoom +/– 1 dB (quasi-DIN scale,
–9 dBFS = 0 dB)
• <q> Nordic (quasi-Nordic scale, –9 dBFS = +6 dB)
• <q> British IIa (quasi-British scale,
–10 dBFS = “6”)
• <q> British IIb (quasi-British scale,
–10 dBFS = +8 dB)
• Integration time
This combo box is used to select the integration time of
the level display:
•
10 ms ( Standard Settings Digital , selection ARD )
• 20 ms
• 1 ms
• 0.1 ms
• Sample ( Standard Settings Digital , selection Digital )
• 150 ms
• DC-Filter
This combo box sets the DC fi lter. You can switch the fi lter
off (
Off ) or set it to 5 Hz (standard settings digital), 10 Hz
or 20 Hz .
• Headroom
This list box sets the beginning of the headroom in the
range between –20 dBFS and 0 dBFS. The digital stan-
dard setting is
–9 dBFS.
NOTE - The headroom of the ARD +9 dB...–60
dB scale is fi xed to –9 dBFS . Choosing a different value
in the Headroom list box has no effect.
• Operation indicator area
This list box sets the area where the indicator for the ope-
rating area is activated. Values between –20 dB and 0 dB
are available. The digital standard setting is
0 dB .
• Peak Hold fallback time
This combo box is for setting the hold time for the peak
hold display. Options:
1 s, 2 s , 4 s , 10 s , 20 s , 30 s and
Manual Reset . With Manual Reset selected, you can
reset the peak hold display with the Reset function in the
Loudness Meter.
• Mode
This combo box is used for switching the Peak Hold func-
tion on or off. Options:
Normal , Peakhold .
• Bar Style
This combo box selects the way the PPM and Loudness
bargraphs are combined in the Program Meter display.
Options: Lo U-Type PPM (narrow PPM bar-
graphs left and right of the loudness bargraph), Loudness
+ PPM Spot (PPM spots left and right of the loudness
bargraph), and Loud + PPM Dual (PPM and loudness
bargraphs of same width side by side).
• Peakhold enabled
These check boxes are used to activate the Peakhold
displays for the PPM and Loudness bargraphs. Available
options: PPM (for peakmeter bargraphs), Loudness (for
loudness bargraphs).

This list box sets the area where the indicator for the ope-
rating area is activated. Values between –20 dB and 0 dB
can be entered. The digital standard setting is
0 dB .
• Numeric
This option is used to activate numerical displays for the
PPM or Loudness bargraphs. Options: Off , PPM , Loud-
ness .
