7.2.1 | Function Keys for Instrument Control
The Remote Control 30050 (31900 series), the 31960 se-
ries front panel and the Remote Display 30010 all feature 7
function keys that are used to select display modes, presets
or instrument functions. On the Remote Control 30050, these
keys have numbers that correspond to the toolbar buttons in
window 1.
The assignment of function keys 1 to 7 depends on the cur-
rently selected instrument and operating mode. The currently
active functions are always displayed in the Toolbar. See
Ins-
truments (Display Modes) chapter for detailed descriptions
of the available functions.
7.2.3 | Control Keys and Select Key
There are four more keys available on the hardware units. The-
se are positioned below the function keys on the Remote Con-
trol 30050 and left/right of the function keys on the 31960
front panel (similar on the Remote Display 30010 front panel).
• MODE Switches between Function Select (select
functions) and Instrument Select (select instru-
ments) modes. After selecting an instrument, the
default mode will be
Function Select .
• MORE Displays the next Toolbar function layer if additi-
onal functions are available. On the last available
layer, selecting
MORE returns you back to the
fi rst level. If there is only one layer available,
MORE is greyed out.
• MENU Menu access for confi guration of system set-
tings.
• INSTR Means Instrument and switches focus between
window 2 ( Program Meter ) and window 3
(current instrument). The function keys always
control the focused instrument, indicated by the
white frame around it.
While in the menu system, the control keys are used as cursor
keys.
The red Select keys are used for accessing and selecting op-
tions in the menu as well as confi rming entries.
