9.1.2 | Sub Presets
The concept of “Sub Presets” was introduced for making it
even easier and faster to adapt to different tasks and produc-
tion needs. Using Sub Presets, it is not necessary to load a
preset each time a new input source and routing is needed.
Sub presets are accessed very fast without entering the menu
system – just press the Input key and press one of the seven
numbered keys. All user and factory presets contain 7 Sub
Presets each that hold, among many other parameters, the
complete input routing, the preferred instrument shown in the
display and detailed settings for the Program and Loudness
Meters. By default, the Sub Presets are named
Key 1 , …, Key
7 to refl ect the button/key they are assigned to, but can be
renamed individually anytime. In normal operation, the name of
the Sub Presets is shown in the Toolbar after pressing Input.
Because the 7 Sub Presets are part of the routing settings,
they will as well follow the local/global setting made for the
routing in each preset. This means the settings loaded with
Key 1 to Key 7 might change with each new user preset
loaded when the Use Local Routing Settings checkbox is
activated in the loaded preset. The Sub Presets then are local
sub presets. On the other hand, if the checkbox is not activa-
ted, the global Sub Presets are used instead, as defi ned in
the Global Routing Settings menu ( Input/Output Routing
menu tab, Monitoring Input Routing sub menu).
NOTE - Except the fi rst Sub Preset which is recalled
with Key 1 , all other Sub Presets are only available after its
checkbox was enabled on the Monitoring Input Routing sub
menu page. Please refer to Monitoring Input Routing chap-
ter for more details about enabling and disabling Sub Presets.
