SurroundControl 31900/31960 Series
9.1.3 | Channel Organization and Signal Routing
Internally, the unit uses logical channels (L, R, etc.) that match
the selected audio format. For example, if you are using 5.1
surround, the internal logical channels are L, R, C, LS, RS, LFE,
Lext, Rext, Lo and Ro. The assignment of the physical signal
inputs to these logical channels is performed in the input rou-
ting, with separate settings for each input.
Internally, the metering and the Metering Controller always use
the logical channel names (L, R etc.) and not the physical input
names. The same applies for the Metering controller’s outputs:
The logical internal channels (L, R etc.) are assigned to the
physical outputs using the output routing. For analog and digi-
tal outputs, individual routings may be defi ned.
