7.2.7 | The EX Key
Depending on the channel current mode, this key performs different functions:
4. Press
the
Save & Exit
button twice to store your selection
and leave the menu system.
5. Press
the
EX
key. The external signal is routed to the
front loudspeakers and your selected instrument is now
displayed in window 3.
• 3.1/5.1/6.1
mode
Irrespective of the channel key function set with the
black
Select
button, pressing this key switches the external
signals
Lext/Rext
(2-Ch Downmix) to the
L
and
R
front
channels while all other channels including
LFE
are mut-
ed. In these modes, the
EX
key has a toggle function and
is linked to the
2C
key.
By selecting Lext/Rext monitoring mode, the Vectorscope
(
VSC
) or the Surround Sound Analyzer (
SSA
) instrument
can be activated automatically. This confi guration can be
set in the
Key Settings
menu.

7.1 Cinema mode
In this mode, the
EX
key is assigned to the Right Center
(
RC
) channel. The functions selected with the
black Se-
lect
button are available.
•
7.1 DD+ mode
In this mode, the
EX
key is assigned to the Right (
R
)
channel. The functions selected with the
black Select
button are available.
Please proceed as follows to set the instrument for the Lext/Rext monitoring after pressing the EX key:
1. Press
the
MENU
button, the unit switches to menu mode.
The last used menu page is shown.
2. Use
the
<
or
>
button to select the
Key Settings
menu
tab. The
Key Settings
menu page is displayed.
3. Use the cursor keys
or
to set the focus to the option
fi eld of the instrument you need in the
Display Mode for
External Monitoring
frame. Confi rm your selection with
the
red Select
key.
7.2.8 | The CS Channel Key
Depending on the current channel mode, this key performs different functions:
•
3.1/5.1/7.1 Cinema/7.1 DD+ mode
Pressing the
CS
key stores the value of the current re-
ference sound pressure level (
SPL
) setting as a preset.
The value can then be displayed and activated by pressing
the
Volume
control. The preset value remains stored also
after power off. This function does not affect the monito-
ring system calibration - it is just a useful feature for quick
recovery of a stored volume level.

In this mode, the
CS
key is assigned to the Surround Cen-
ter channel (
CS
). The functions selected with the
black
Select
button are available.
7.2.9 | The LF Channel Key
Using this key, the functions selected with the
black Select
button are applied to the LFE channel.
