8.3.2 | Functions of the SSA instrument
• LFE
(Button/key 5)
The LFE function activates or deactivates a phase check
between the LFE channel an all other channels. If a ne-
gative correlation occurs, the SSA will display the warning
message „LFE Phase“ in red characters. This warning will
pop up if a negative phase angle of more than 20° is mea-
sured. For an in-depth analysis of the LFE phase, please
use the LFE mode of the CORR instrument.
Stereo Sound Analyzer functions in 2-Ch. Stereo mode
• DMI
(Button/key 1)
The DMI (Dominance Indicator) activates or deactivates
the dominance indicator in the Stereo sound fi eld (white
cross).
• CORR
(Button/key 2)
The CORR function (Correlator) activates or deactivates
the phase meters of the L and R channel pair of the Ste-
reo fi eld.
Surround Sound Analyzer functions in Surround modes
• PSI
(Button/key 1)
The PSI function (Phantom Source Indicator) activates
or deactivates the indicators for phantom sound sources.
They are displayed instead or in combination with the pha-
se meters (see CORR below).
• DMI
(Button/key 2)
The DMI (Dominance Indicator) activates or deactivates
the dominance indicator in the surround sound fi eld (white
cross).
• LPF
(Button/key 3,)
The LPF (Low Pass Filter) function activates or deactiva-
tes the low pass fi lter function (300 Hz) of the Surround
Correlator for LS and RS channels. The current status is
shown on the lower left in the SSA window.
• CORR
(Button/key 4)
The CORR function (Correlator) activates or deactivates
the phase meters of the main channel pairs of the sur-
round fi eld. They are displayed instead of or in combinati-
on with the phantom source indicators (see PSI above).
