Proceed as follows for an oil and filter exchange:
– Before changing the oil clean a wide area around the oil filters and the oil filler cap.
– Change the oil only with engine at operating temperature.
– Park the machine on level ground.
– Put an oil-resistant collecting vessel of sufficient size underneath.
– Unscrew the closing cap at the oil drain valve (
3
).
– Screw on the provided oil drain hose. The valve opens and the old oil drains.
– Remove all oil filters with a filter wrench
– Clean the sealing surfaces of the filter console. Check that all gasket residues have
been removed.
– Lightly coat the sealing rings of the new filters with oil.
– Install new oil filters. The two fine filters (
4
) are tightened 1/2 - 3/4 revolution after
positioning. The bypass filter (
5
) is tightened 3/4 - 1 revolution after positioning.
– Unscrew the oil drain hose again and screw on the screw cap on the oil drain valve
(
3
) again.
Filling in engine oil
Fill in fresh engine oil through the oil filling cap (
2
).
Prescribed oil variants:
Engine oil, semi-synthetic
Volvo standard VDS-3, ECEA E7, API
CI-4
Filling volume:
approx. 48 litres
Then start the engine from the driver's seat and let the engine idle without pressing the
drive pedal for about one minute. Shut off engine.
About 5 minutes after the engine has been shut off, check the oil level using the oil
dipstick. When the oil has been collected in the oil sump, the oil level should be in the
middle between the min. and the max. marking on the oil dipstick. Do not fill in too
much engine oil.
Check engine and oil filter for leaks (visual inspection).
