CHAPTER 15: OTHER PRECAUTIONS
3. Replacement of the Mechanical control PCB
The procedure given here applies to machines with firmware version V2.00 or above. The given procedure
will not work with the firmware under V2.00.
Also, the firmware version number of the existing Mechanical control PCB and the new one must match
before starting the replacement procedure. Therefore, a same version firmware must be downloaded
onto the new PCB when the instruction given below instructs to download the firmware onto the new PCB.
If the machine firmware needs to be upgraded to a newest version, it must be done after the Mechanical
control PCB replacement procedure is completely finished. If the machine firmware version between the
two PCBs do not match, the given procedure may not work.
NOTE:
The procedure given below is to upload the existing test mode settings onto a Compact Flash
(CF) card and to download the test mode settings onto the new PCB. If the existing PCB is
broken to an extent that data retrieving cannot be made, the existing test mode values needs to
be input onto the new PCB manually. Therefore, It is always safer to keep the up-to-date test
mode setting data for each machine readily in hand.
Also, if you are keeping REv data for each machine, do not forget to take the REv data from the
damaged PCB before replacing the PCB.
1. Upload the test mode settings from the existing (damaged) Mechanical control PCB onto a CF card
by following the steps given below.
1-1.
Turn OFF the machine power and insert CF card in the machine slot.
1-2.
Turn ON the machine power by starting up Test Mode.
1-3. Activate test mode No.103 [System-parameter adjustment upload].
1-4. Turn OFF the machine power once the test mode No.103 is completed, and remove the
CF card from the machine slot.
2. Remove the existing Mechanical control PCB from the machine, and detach EEPROM and Battery
from the PCB. Then attach the removed EEPROM and the Battery onto the new PCB.
