Adjustment

1. Separator Mounting Position

Checks and adjustment

(1) Using Test Chart No.15, create a master and make prints. Confirm that neither paper jamming on the

drum nor black thin line (caused by the separator touching and scratching the master on the print drum)
appears on the prints. Note that 5mm white margin is given on top of the prints to check the paper
jamming (sticking) on the drum.

(2) If paper jams on the drum or a thin black line appears on the prints, remove the print drum from the

machine and remove the print drum front cover. Return the print drum back in the machine and switch off
the machine power.

(3) Loosen the two screws on the separator adjusting plate (one located at the right of the print drum and the

other on the machine frame inside the machine at the paper receiving side).

(4) Move the separator adjusting plate up or down to adjust the position of the separator against the print

drum, looking at the gap between the print drum and the tip of the separator through the hole on the front
frame of the print drum (refer to the photographs on next page). Aim with a flash light from the paper
receiving side of the machine if neccessary.
