Bandwidth
MediorNet is broadcasting the data via high-speed fiber links, thus a basic knowledge about this medium is
required. All links of the LINK-Cards are duplex-links. SFP-Modules are used for the electrical / optical
conversion. These transceivers have an independent transmitter and receiver part with a defined wavelength.
The CWDM links are only possible over single mode fiber.
Display of used bandwidth
The amount of actual used bandwidth is shown in the
DEVICE BROWSER. Please take care, that the box Show
Link Cards is checked. The actual usage is displayed left of the link status icon.
For instance 75% means, that a quarter of the bandwidth of the link is still available.
The information of used bandwidth is also in the STATUS-window of the LINK-Card available. Just right-click
on the desired LINK-Card and choose in the context menu the option
Status (see chapter
MN-LNK2,4 STATUS
).
Overview of required bandwidth
The required bandwidth is calculated in MediorNet in timeslots (TS).
Each link offers 512 timeslots for the data transfer. More data in a signal requires more timeslots on a link.
In following table are the required timeslots for the different signal types listed.
