• These settings are used to adjust the fusing temperature and amount of pressure applied by the pressure
roller on the hot roller.
• Each notch (1 to 5) represents a "mode" (Mode 1 to Mode 5). These references to "modes" are used
in several SP codes below. Mode 1 is at the left end of the scale on the display, and Mode 5 is at the
right end.
• The modes for thicker paper are to the left of the "+" button and those for thinner paper to the right of
the "+" button.
• A thicker selection raises the fusing temperature and pressure applied by the pressure roller; a thinner
selection lowers the temperature and lowers the pressure for thinner paper.
• The settings can be done independently for paper fed from either the paper cassette or the bypass
tray.
