Open the cylinder to move the door to
its fully extended position. Test the
retraction of the gear and note the tire
clearance. If the door does not move
smoothly, make sure the cylinder can
rotate around its single bolt mounting. If
more adjustments are needed you can
try to locate the horn at a different
location on the door and/or adjust the
cylinder mounting plate.
18. Once final adjustments are made,
drill holes through the door so you can
secure the horn with small bolts and
nuts or #1 screws. Lastly, drill a pilot
hole for one more screw to secure the
cylinder mounting plate.
19. To attach the inside door skins,
remove the outside doors from the wing.
It is helpful to mark which hinge goes
where as you should now remove the
hardware from the doors.
If you have not yet done so, cut the
inside door skins into its inner/outer
parts. With the inside skin for the inner
door clamped in place on the outside
door, mark where the hinges are located
on the inside skin. Trim away this area
of the inside skin. Note below how this
door’s horn lies on the flat part of the
inside skin, therefore it does not need to
have material removed like the hinges.
20. Remove any protective film from the
inside door skins. Rough up the mating
areas of the outside and inside doors.
Use CA to join the inside skin to the
outside door skin and clamp the edges.
21. Do the same task for the outer door,
making sure to apply CA to all areas of
the skins that contact.
