Once positioned with these references,
score the LE adjacent to the cowl for a
trim line, then cut the LE. Rough trim
the top, rear and rear bottom as you did
on the left side.
2. There is one detail that you can
choose to do before applying the right
skin to the fuse. In the photo below,
there is a ring of rivets highlighted.
These surround a glass window on the
full-size T-34C. You can easily simulate
the look of the window by masking a ½”
dia. circle, centered in the ring, when
painting. Behind the window is a
canopy pressure gauge. There is a .pdf
file on the CD named pressure gauge.
Print it on glossy paper.
The photo below is what you will be
replicating.
3. Position the side skin on the fuse
aligning it with the references. Tape it in
place. Draw a circle on the fuse the
same diameter as the ring of rivets – the
circle template shown below is under
the skin. The shown circle represents a
½” window diameter – this will be the
size of the paint mask.
4. Route the circle to a depth of about
¼”. Paint the recess with black paint.
Use a green and red marker or pen to
color in the gauge face – we made
multiple copies so you can practice (see
full-size photos for reference).
5. Place a drop of CA on the gauge
face, then lay a piece of scrap
polycarbonate over it.
